Brindis Gala

The 2025 Brindis Gala has officially concluded. We are deeply grateful to everyone who attended, supported, and shared in such a meaningful night of celebration and purpose.

Established in 1990, the Brindis Gala is the signature and premier fundraising event for MANA de San Diego. This memorable evening showcases MANASD’s programs, events, milestones and accomplishments. It brings together friends, community leaders, and advocates to celebrate the partners, members and volunteers who have made and continue to make MANA de San Diego the premier Latina organization in San Diego County. All proceeds of this biennial event go to fund MANASD’s various programs designed to empower and educate Latinas to become leaders in their communities.

The Brindis Gala offers guests an evening filled with friendship, delicious cuisine, lively musical entertainment, and a diverse silent auction, all while showing commitment to MANASD’s mission of “transforming communities by empowering Latinas to achieve upward mobility and a better quality of life.” Funds raised from the brindis will be allocated towards strengthening our programs, enabling us to further enhance our initiatives.

Meet our Co-Chairs

About Claudia Rempel

Claudia Rempel is a dynamic leader with extensive experience in community affairs and operations management within the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) sector. She is the Regional Director of Premier Ambulance where she is responsible for all facets of administering start up and continued operations of a full-service ambulance company providing emergency and non-emergency service throughout San Diego County. Claudia excels in fostering strategic partnerships, managing diverse teams and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Her expertise extends to contract negotiations and labor relations, honed through her experience in the field as an Emergency Medical Technician. Claudia has spearheaded various diversity and inclusion initiatives and led community outreach efforts to promote health education and injury prevention programs.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Claudia is a champion for leadership and advocacy; devoting over 14 years serving as a non-profit volunteer. She serves on multiple non-profit boards and committees, including as Immediate Past Board Chair of MANA de San Diego, Board President of the Ambulance Association of San Diego County, member of the San Ysidro Health Philanthropic Leadership Council, Local Ambulance Patient Offload Times (APOT) Collaboration Committee and the County of San Diego EMS Health Services Capacity Task Force.

Her contributions have been recognized through various accolades, including honoree of The San Diego Business Journal’s 2023 Top 50 Nonprofit Board Leaders of Influence and the Latino Leaders of Influence, named First Responder of the Month in 2023 by the San Diego Regional East County Chamber of Commerce, Community Leadership Award by the Hospital Association of San Diego and Imperial Counties awarded the District 1 Equity 2023 SHEro Award in Health Sector on behalf of the Office of Chairwoman Nora Vargas and the recipient of the Women in Leadership Award in 2022 by the San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce.

Claudia was born in San Diego and raised in the South Bay. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of California, Riverside, and a proud alumna of MANA de San Diego’s Latina Success Leadership Program, Cal State San Marcos’ Leadership North County and Chicano Federation’s Latino Training Institute. With a passion for making a positive impact on her community, Claudia embodies a dedication to excellence and a drive for innovation in all aspects of her work.

About Claudia Ludlow

With over 34 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Claudia Ludlow Baza is a distinguished leader in the field, known for her exceptional service and dedication to boutique hotels. As General Manager of the historic Glorietta Bay Inn in Coronado, she leads with a focus on personalized service, community engagement, and preserving the rich heritage of the hotel, which was built in 1908 by John D. Spreckels. Under her guidance, the inn has earned numerous accolades and recognition, cementing her status as a respected figure in the industry.

Claudia’s leadership has garnered her prestigious awards, including the 2023 James V. Cunningham Personalized Service Award, by the SD Lodging Association, as well as the General Manager of the Year award from the California Lodging Association. In recognition of her contributions to the local community, June 21 has been officially declared Claudia Ludlow Day in Coronado. Her commitment to service extends beyond the hotel industry; Claudia is an active volunteer and a staunch supporter of her community, currently serving as a Board Member of the Coronado Tourism Authority, & San Diego Women in Tourism and Hospitality.

Claudia’s connection to Coronado runs deep, with her family being part of the community since 1919, one of the first black families of Coronado. Her dedication to preserving local black history and heritage has made her a passionate advocate for historical preservation, further reflected in her work with historic hotels. Claudia is also a proud member of the Coronado Chamber of Commerce and has been featured in Women Who Mean Business Magazine for her leadership in the tourism and hospitality industry.

When she’s not managing the Glorietta Bay Inn, Claudia enjoys leisurely walks on the beach with her pup, indulging in thrift shopping, and celebrating the local culture. Recently, Claudia and her partner of 11 years eloped, marking the completion of their love story.

Born in Tijuana, Baja California, and raised with a deep love for San Diego, Claudia embodies the spirit of hospitality and community, making her a beloved figure both locally and in the broader tourism industry.
